How this season’s suede blazer is the quickest way to elevate your Spring outfits
If you haven’t already noticed, the shops are brimming with one of the ‘must have’ Spring 2025 trends; the suede jacket. Once dismissed as a western cliché, or a relic of 70’s fashion, it has again come full circle and this classic style has been resurrected. Although we know suede is not an easy option with our confused British weather (invest in your suede protector ladies), it seems this impracticality isn’t preventing it’s popularity and to be honest, it’s a trend I am personally loving! Maybe it’s because of the caramel tones of suede I’m favouring that align perfectly within my seasonal colour palette, or because I am a huge Stevie Nicks fan!

My first piece of advice would be to invest as much as you can afford, as I see us reaching for this potential wardrobe staple year after year. So whether you are looking for a warm caramel tone, a relaxed silhouette or a hit of chocolate suede, this is the perfect lightweight layer for the transitional weather, whilst also pairing beautifully with other current trending pieces like the barrel-leg jeans, and a pair of suede boots or trainers.
So, let’s keep this simple ladies, here are my Top 10 ways to incorporate this ‘textile of the moment’ into your Spring 2025 wardrobe.

We have to start with the perfect partnership: brown suede and denim. The fabric clash and the colours are perfection; it’s on-trend whilst sophisticated and you can tailor the denim to suit your personal style.
The “classic’ white shirt, black wide-leg trousers and a chocolate or tan suede blazer; classic colour combination, easy to accessorise and again add your personal style. I’m personally adding a gold statement earring or chain necklace, a pair of pointed flats and a large statement woven bag.
Another classic, the white tee and jeans combination, but keeping it 2025 with a pair of barrel jeans, in a medium or light wash blue. I’d either pair this with a brown suede ankle boot to sandwich the look together, or a pair of suede trainers with a bright lace to add some colour.
For a daytime or workwear look; layer your blazer over lightweight knit, wide-leg woven trousers and add a pointed black boot. If you are wearing a chocolate blazer, I would advise styling with similarly earthy tones in your knitwear.
For an evening look; how about tying a chunky belt around your blazer, throwing it on over a slip dress, adding a pointed heel or boot and a clutch bag - I’d go for textured, bright or metallic.

As the weather warms up, how about pairing your suede with a white tee and a leather midi skirt. A thong sandal would effortlessly complete the look.
My personal favourite look at the moment is to wear my cropped suede jacket layered under a heavier coat. I am also adding a vintage neck scarf to tie the colours in the navy coat with my tan suede.
A suede jacket just screams to be worn alongside your animal print, whether it’s your jeans, a wallet pump or a simple animal print belt. A word of advice; be careful mixing warm and cool tones in your pieces as that won’t look harmonious, more like a styling mistake. But if animal print isn’t your jam, how about a clean Breton striped tee?
How about pairing your suede jacket with a leather mini or a pair of leather trousers, keeping the tee/knitwear underneath minimal. I’d suggest your ‘best’ white to keep a clean aesthetic.
Finally if you are more drawn to a brown suede trench, this would look great layered over a spring floral dress.
