How to style-up the satin slip maxi skirt this Autumn
The satin skirt has certainly become a wardrobe staple that we just can’t be without, and this Autumn the hemline has dropped a little further & I am loving it! But why are they so versatile? The luxurious fabric, the sophisticated look of the drape or that the item is a decisively deceptive piece that can be dressed up or down & importantly worn all year round.
So, whether you are looking for ideas for the one already hanging in your wardrobe, or thinking of investing in the maxi version (my favourite) & want some style ideas, check out some of my ideas below of what to wear with your satin skirt. This range of outfits will suit a wide range of body shapes & of course I’d encourage you to adapt them to suit your personal style too.
So let’s get styling ……
Pair with a chunky knitted jumper. The juxtapose fabrications work in harmony with one another to look very sophisticated; the cool sleek of the skirt against the textured matt of the knit
A button-up shirt looks effortless & chic! I like a crisp white shirt or chambray blue soft cotton mix, tucked in of course
Team your favourite slogan or graphic sweat with your leather jacket & a pair of high top converse. My favourite is the leather jacket and mono tee with a soft muted skirt & your favourite trainers. This is a combination of a tough, structured leather jacket with a lustrous, fluid-textured satin skirt & looks both stunning & incredibly stylish.
Worn with a short on-trend cowboy boot & sweatshirt in the style of Anine Bing, hers work particularly well because of the shades of black within her sweat ( grey black) & skirt ( true black), plus the highlight colours across the printed sweat
My go-to vibe; worn with a graphic tee, blazer & heels combo. So many variations to work to your individual style
Rockin’ solo-saturation through tones & fabrications, for me I’d then add a textured or printed bag to ad some personality
An Oversized Blazer + Satin Slip Skirt: I’d go for more of a pale champagne-tone skirt with a tonal small checked blazer, finished off with a pair of trainers, or you could certainly add some heels to give more of a dinner-out look!
With a tailored blazer, a satin slip skirt is one of the easiest ways to look polished & put together that is ideal for work
8. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it, the hoodie and blazer combo works so with your trainers and boots
9. Style with this seasons strapped ballet flats & a piece of knitwear, blazer thrown over the shoulders of course, swapping in a heeled boot when the weather cools
10. For a super comfortable vibe, match your satin maxi skirt with an oversized t-shirt for an effortlessly cool summer aesthetic.
11. Keep the colour palette simple with black, white, and grey tones (grey is very on-trend for Autumn)
These are just some ideas to get you started; If you want to be bold & have fun, choose a bright colour top & pair it with floral or animal print satin skirt. For something more chic & sophisticated, try pairing your satin skirt with a simple blouse or sweater.
One thing is for sure they are a great wardrobe staple & one of my wardrobe superheroes!
