10 Benefits to Working with a Personal Stylist

Between the “I don’t know what to wear”, “my style is always the same” or “ I don’t know what suits me” I can tell you I’ve heard pretty much every negative thing you might be thinking about your wardrobe. And the number one reason for it is usually the same for everyone: your wardrobe isn’t efficient for you & is no longer reflecting you. But what do you say to having a wardrobe that only contains pieces that you love?

Here are 10 reasons why working with a personal stylist could be the best investment in yourself you’ll ever make.

1.Because your wardrobe isn’t just the clothes. It is a reflection of how you feel about yourself; there is an undeniable correlation between your self-confidence, your wardrobe & the power that clothing can hold on us

2. Because every time you get dressed you’re telling the universe what kind of day you want to have ….. and yourself; “I’ll just throw on this old thing” & feel cr*p all day, sound familiar?

3. Because the more time & money you waste on items you’ll never wear, the less time & money you’ll have for the things that help you grow & feel more confident

4. Because you’ve got big plans for a holiday / event / interview / new job & you want a wardrobe that makes you feel great & ready for anything

5. Because you’re only wearing 10% of your wardrobe. A personal stylist will make sure your wardrobe is optimised; an optimised wardrobe is where you get to make the most of what you have! Not only will learn to appreciate & rediscover the pieces you already own, but a stylist will also make sure that you invest in pieces that are versatile enough to allow your creativity

“Your stylist is somebody that you should be able to trust as it’s so much about your relationship. So many of my clients have become my friends; we laugh & chat all the time”

6. Because you keep wondering when you’re going to feel like the woman who wears all the lovely clothes that are hanging in your wardrobe. And honestly you don’t want to go another year feeling like this. It takes on average 9-12 months before a client books me & they always say “I should’ve done this sooner”.

7. Because you’re feeling increasingly guilty about how much you’re spending & you don’t want to admit to yourself how much you’ve dropped in Zara, H&M etcetera so far this year …. I’ll let you into a little secret, Personal Stylists don’t judge …. You’re doing enough of that yourself, and personally I have been guilty of doing this on many a time.

8. Because it is so much more than styling, it is a strategy and mindset and not a stylist telling you the answers but facilitating the space where you can find the answers within yourself & enjoy creating your own outfits

9. Because you want to define your style / own brand & have friends or colleagues thinking instantly “oh, this definitely looks like something my friend / colleague would wear!”

10. Because we live in a world where we are constantly bombarded by lists of “must-haves” & “basics every woman should own”. We see Influencers daily telling us of the “must haves” & we feel compelled to buy them. When your style is not clearly defined, it leaves the door open to impulse purchase, wrong buys & other pitfalls of shopping.

Bonus number 11. Because your partner will see the difference in your confidence almost instantly…and the speed at which you’re getting ready!

Ultimately, my job as a stylist is to help you understand yourself better in addition to looking at clothing & fashion. And for this simple reason, I’d say a personal stylist is definitely worth every penny and I have over 100 clients, and counting, in agreement so far. Your initial investment will be much higher than the price of that one sad outfit; but long-term, you’ll win on time, money, and all the extra perks listed above.
