Why Buying Jeans is SO HARD

Source: Pinterest

Ever wondered why you may purchase jeans of the same size & style from the same brand, yet they may still fit differently? This is due to a variety of reasons (sorry), not easy to get our head around but I’m afraid ladies it happens & we need to process this if we want to find jeans we love & that look great on us. Here are some of the reasons why this happens:

1.Manufacturing differences: Even within the same brand (frustrating I know), there can be variations in how each pair of jeans is made, where each pair is made (the manufacturing countries), leading to differences in fit. Small variations in stitching, cutting, & sewing can all impact the fit of the jeans …. Even the difference in machinist operating the stitching on a particular day.

2. Fabric & wash differences: The fabric & wash of the jeans can also hugely impact the fit. Different batches of denim can have slight variations in stretch & drape, affecting how the jeans fit on your body.

3. Human error: There can be small human errors during the production process, which can lead to inconsistencies in the sizing & fit of the jeans; frustrating for us but we all have our off days right? This is why I always suggest to try on at least 2 of the same size to get the best fit.

4. We all have different body shapes; If I put 10 size12 ladies into the same pair of size 12 jeans they would not fit them all in the same way, if at all, because we cary our weight differently, our shapes are so varied & our proportions are different

5. Our own personal preference: Even if the jeans technically fit the same, personal preference can impact how they feel & look on the body e.g. one person may prefer a tighter fit, while another may prefer a looser fit

It’s a mind blowing process but in order to enjoy buying, and actually wearing our jeans we need to understand & accept this is the case (even though were may not like it at all). There are so many factors that can impact how a pair of jeans fits, even if they are the same size & style from the same brand. It's important to try on each pair of jeans individually to ensure the best fit for your body shape & personal preferences …. And IGNORE THE SIZE!
