I’m a Barbie Girl, lovin’ this new Barbie World

Unless you’ve been marooned on a dessert island, Barbie is everywhere, so much so we must all be seeing Barbie in our sleep. So, for the child obsessed with all things Barbie, this mini blog is totally influenced by the colour pink & dedicated to the doll of my childhood, the reason for my pursuit of fashion & that escapism of life in plastic. I will hopefully be going to visit Barbie-land next week when the folks can watch the little people for me (& my husband, I’ve not told him he’s coming yet) can escape for the evening to enter the world of Barbie.

We were first introduced to #barbiecore last summer by the Spring/Summer 2022 “Valentino Pink” collection, and it is still vividly evident throughout the high street & beyond. Barbicore is all about expressing your inner child & having fun with your ‘fit and I am totally here for that. It feels like we’ve been living for the on-set paparazzi snaps of all of the Barbie costumes, my particular favourites being Margot's '60s gingham set, the pink overalls & her '80s neon rollerblading ensemble!
